“Dude, can you help? I’m drowning in calls.”
It was March 2020. The world was shutting down, and businesses were scrambling to adapt to a reality no one saw coming.
I was sitting in my home office when my phone lit up. A close friend—one of the most respected minds in tech and software—was calling David Henzel. There was urgency in his voice.
“I’m inundated,” he said. “Every founder and CEO I know is reaching out and looking for guidance. They need clarity. They need coaching. And I need help organizing all this.”
Over the past two decades, I’ve built and scaled three coaching and training companies. I’ve mentored thousands of experts and helped them structure, grow, and scale their businesses. But this conversation felt different. It wasn’t about coaching.
It was about transforming it.
A Turning Point: From Crisis to Clarity
During our conversation, it became obvious—this went beyond just helping David with one-on-one calls or setting up group sessions.
I forgot how challenging it is to build out the entire system of transforming clients, and building a scalable business model.
It was apparent the tools to support the coaching industry itself were broken. And with David’s extensive background in tech, he saw the same thing.
For years, I had seen these struggles play out across coaches, experts, and mentors and at every level:
✅ Coaching lacked structure – Too many ad-hoc calls, scattered notes, and clients slipping through the cracks.
✅ Scaling was painful – Beyond one-on-one, coaches struggled to deliver real transformation in a leveraged way.
✅ Technology didn’t serve coaches – Platforms existed for webinars, communities, and learning, but nothing truly integrated the full coaching experience.
And now, during a global crisis, these problems were magnified tenfold because of demand.
Then, in an almost offhand comment, my friend said: “What if we built something better?”
At that moment, something clicked.
I wasn’t just answering a friend’s call for help. A doorway opened for a bigger opportunity to transform coaches and their clients.
The Fastest Product Build I’ve Ever Been a Part Of
Most platforms take months, if not years, to develop. But two weeks later, we had a working product.
Fueled by my deep understanding of what coaches truly need. David’s expertise in building world-class tech companies. Our co-founder, Mert, has a strong background in tech and development. Together, we created a platform for the new coaching world.
This isn’t just for individual coaching but also for those who want leverage.
Instead of fragmented tools and endless workarounds, we created a unified transformation platform that seamlessly supported:
🔹 One-on-one coaching—streamlined, organized, and trackable
🔹 Simplified group coaching—without the chaos of multiple apps
🔹 Courses & structured learning—to help coaches go beyond live calls
🔹 Accountability systems—to ensure clients follow through
But we didn’t stop there.
For two years, we patiently tested the platform with top professional coaches. We weren’t rushing to squeeze profits from it—we had successful businesses already. This meant we could prioritize quality over quick wins.
And that’s precisely what we did.
Building More Than Software—Creating Transformation
Today, upcoach isn’t just a tool—it’s a modern transformation platform™.
It’s about redefining what coaching can be. It’s about giving coaches and coaching companies the structure, scalability, and impact they’ve always wanted.
And it’s about ensuring coaching creates real transformation, not just fleeting inspiration.
Because coaching isn’t about another Zoom call. It’s about changing lives—and that starts with the right foundation.
Which is why we built upcoach from day one.
The world doesn’t need more coaching. The world needs transformation, and I’m ecstatic that upcoach helps make that happen.
Fun Fact: the reason ‘upcoach’ is in lowercase letters is a subtle nod to the humility the most outstanding leaders display.
